Empowering Youth, Shaping Futures
in Limpopo's Film Landscape
Welcome to Wyza Media’s story, a narrative fueled by passion, determination, and a commitment to bridge the film and television gap in the heart of Limpopo. Founded by award-winning actor and social entrepreneur, Kope Makgae, Wyza Media is more than a company; it’s a transformative force for the youth in rural Limpopo.
About Wyza Media
Wyza Media Academy, a MICTSETA accredited film and television institution, stands as a beacon of education, skills development, and youth empowerment. Offering courses in film and television production at NQF 4 & 5, we provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in our state-of-the-art studio facilities.
Our goal is clear: bridge the divide between rural Limpopo and urban Gauteng in the film and television industry. By establishing a business in the province, we empower talented youth, capturing local content, culture, and languages. Through Wyza Media Academy, Wyza Media Studios, and the Wyza Film Student Exchange Program, we aim to impact the Limpopo economy, creating opportunities and training the next generation of film and television professionals.
As a self-funded institution, Wyza Media is on the lookout for foreign investment to enhance our studio facilities and equipment. Situated in the vibrant province of Limpopo, home to the iconic Kruger National Park and diverse cultures, we aspire to dominate the untapped film and television industry through passion, risk-taking, and experience.
Join us on this exciting journey to become a prominent player in the burgeoning South African film industry. Film and television ownership is key, and we invite like-minded enthusiasts to share in our purpose and love for film production.
Launched in 2020 amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wyza Media Studios represents a courageous venture. Blessed by the legendary arts stalwart, Mr. Paul Rapetsoa, our facility received acknowledgment from previous Honourable MEC Thandi Maraka, promising the necessary financial and non-financial support for film and television.
Despite being the first in the province, we continue to pioneer, living by the sentiment “Mphe Mphe Ya Lapisha.” Though the establishment of a film institution is the mandate of the DSAC, we took it upon ourselves to make history, always guided by our purpose.
While hopeful for continued support, we believe that God leads those with purpose. Join us in crafting a cinematic legacy that transcends challenges and brings the magic of film to the heart of Limpopo.
